Hairy and then Scary

So Chris, aka Daddy, has never been what you would call 'groomed'. Working alone, for oneself, doesn't motivate my husband to groom regularly. Also, he has been working on finishing the famous 'book'. So between work, stress and a new baby, there was a period of time (perhaps 6 weeks?) where he didn't shave or cut his hair. (This is seen in the family photo to the left).

The other day he started trimming his beard and got carried away. He appeared in the den with a flourish, yelling "Serpico!" and sporting a horrifying mustache. (Also seen at left). It was meant to be a joke, but after gazing upon himself in the mirror for 15 minutes, he declared it to be both 'cool' and 'tough'. Luckily, through looks of horror and threats, I managed to get him to remove the offending lip item.

Do I fear it's return. Oh yes. I'm just working on the haircut next. He also seems to think the mullet is 'cool'.

The good news? The book is done, submitted and onto it's next life: editing. Congrats, my lovely, hairy man.

I love the mustache! It's both tough and cool. I've been begging Martin to grow that exact stache. What a shame. Chris: don't listen to Lee in the future about facial hair, your instincts are totally on!

He looks like he might be smelly too... The big guy I mean. The little one is adorable. Many congratulations! - Karl

Martina,
Don't encourage him! He doesn't understand technology enough to check this blog, so maybe I'll just fail to mention your praise. Plus, he hasn't shaved since and could easily re-create it.
Miss you!

Hey Karl,
He does LOOK smelly, but I insist on occasional bathing for both my boys.

Why does the Interweb make me ugly?
