I'm sure there are lots of new moms who make it through the first few weeks without outside support. I mean, even single moms survive somehow! That being said, I don't know how I would have made it through the first month without my mom. She has been here more than not in the last 4 weeks and it has been great. She's like a jolly house-fairy, flitting about getting things done. I turn and the laundry's done. I turn again and there's food in front of me. Then I hear a voice say, 'nap-time' and I'm whisked off for a sleep.
She would say that she gets pay-off, because she gets lots of time with her first grandchild, but I think I'm winning in this deal.
I'm on my own this week, and I am surviving. Just not as blissfully as when Granny Al is around!
