Comings and goings

A busy week, as usual. After Emily's departure on Monday, we had a day off before the arrival of Granny Al and Great-granny Barb. Yay! Barb hasn't been here since Charley was a few weeks old, so she's overdue.

The ladies took the train up (and no major delays... a coup for VIA!) and spent a very quick overnight here at Casa des Jones.

Here are a few shots of the visit:

Yay! Still some tulips to admire!

Describing the view from Rockcliffe Park:
And... the view!
Chris' new do. Patron/Barber miscommunication occurred here. It wasn't meant to be a buzz-cut, but Charley thinks its funny and fuzzy too. I think Chris might actually evolve out of the shock phase and into the "I think I actually life this" phase soon. So low maintenance. Come to think of it, it would be perfect for my lifestyle right now!
Granny, who turns 90 in a few weeks, admires Sweet Baby Sam.

Here are Sammy's 12 weeks shots. I had to squeeze (and I mean SQ-UEEEEZE) the wee one into this cute outfit from Ben and Kristin. I was really hoping it would fit him for the warm weather, but who knew we were dealing with King Kong baby? It was so tight in the length that he was sitting crooked and then he barfed on the whole affair 10 seconds before I took the shots. I wasn't about to take it off, dry it and start over, so here are the pictures....wet spots and all.

So fat!

Looks just like my sister Sarah here. Or, at least, a combo of the two of us.
Baby fell down! Wild eyes and barf-marks on the couch. Classy!
Many, MANY thanks to Aimee, who sent this gorgeous blankie for Sam. She made it herself and it's tooo nice. I'm torn between letting him use it and hanging it up on the wall! It has a big "S" on it, in case you can't tell. Thanks lovely woman! We both think it's great.

As for the 'goings' part of the blog...

Chris leaves tomorrow for 5 days with ol' John McCain. Busy for him and busy for me! Then when he comes back we leave immediately for P-bo and my brother's wedding next weekend. Can't believe you'll be a married man this time next week, Benny!

All this to say that I might, or might not, have the opportunity to update this week. If I don't, forgive! and know that I'm up to my eyeballs in laundry, grime and diapers.

Smooches to all.
