On the family front, we've had some big moments. Charley is experiencing an burst of new language, which is so great for all of us. He's learning new words every day. Is it a result of the speech therapy, or just coincidental timing? That, I don't know. I'm enjoying his vocabulary regardless.
The big new word of the week is an inevitable one. This day was coming, I knew it was, but it still made me laugh and gasp. Anyone who knows Chris knows he likes a laid-back style of lingo. So, it's not a huge surprise to have heard Charley say (unprompted) "Dude!" to Chris this week. He then referred to his brother as "Baby Dude"... which is just about the cutest thing ever. Between that and thinking Bob Marley is his "Uncle Bob" he is turning into one weird, little man... I mean, dude.
He also has taken a shine to the potty. Actually, he has skipped the potty stage and gone straight to the big potty, ie: toilet. In the last 3 days he's managed to poop twice while on the toilet and pee a few times too. My secret? Jelly beans. Bribery is a parent's best friend.
I guess we were feeling like rewarding his for all his adorable-ness, so we went out and bought him some cool new shoes. I think they are his first proper shoes and he's pretty excited about them:
The perfect accessory!
Struttin'!
Testing them out. (p.s. Daddy got a coool new toy. See background.)
Stamp of approval. And I mean "STAMP". He was hard to ignore running around in those things.
In the world of Sam, here are the 14 week shots. I promised myself I would stop commenting on his size, because let's face it, he's big and just getting bigger. Today he's decked out in 9 month clothing. Okay, so here's the cute sir:
What is up with this look? Too smug for words.
And grinny Charley at the same age. No, it's not a contest... I just like to see them side by side.
And, a bonus video for you. Now you'll know what I mean about the stamping and stomping:
