We're back from beach land.

The house looks like a bomb went off, and we're all rather tired, but we had a great week at the cottage. The first few days were rainy and cool, so I started to get a bit panicky about how to keep Sir Charley entertained. Luckily the sun came out and we greatly enjoyed the rest of our week.

All the time in the boonies makes me remember that, no matter where I live, I will always be a country, cottagey girl at heart.

Sitting on the dock of the bay. Barry's Bay, to be exact.

4 generations of Higginson-Lee. (Don't be confused... my mom's last name is Lee. As is her mother's...) Anyhoo, there we are!!
Sarah and I dressed alike for the visit. 'Cuz we're, like, 8 years old. And I'm not wearing bloomers, I just rolled my pants up reeeally high.
Sarah wouldn't strip Evy all the way down for this shot. Something about not wanting a 6 week old baby to get slivers in her bum. Wimp.
Two boys out in the paddle-boat. (Let's have a vote here... do you favour "peddle" or "paddle" boat?). And, to be clear, the two boys are Chris and Charley. Sam's legs don't quite reach the peddles yet.
Serene Sam and Evy "Jazz Hands" Jackson

Granny and Charley sparkle.
Does Charley have qualms about splashing a 90 year old lady? No. He does not.
Charley strikes a pose.
Ah, the joys of summer. And the joys of being married to a man who actually thinks this is a good idea. Good times.

We had a great week, (including a wonderful day with Nanna, Dodo and Aunty Denise that wasn't documented, alas...) and hope for a return trip in the future.

Bedtime for me.
