Happy Holidays!

Season's Greetings to all!

I'm trying to get into the spirit, but so far this week I've been given two less-than-desirable presents.

Firstly, I was informed that I'm getting my first filling next week. The dentist was very nice and said it was mostly preventative, but it requires a needle nonetheless, and therefore I'm feeling nervous. Everyone thinks it's great that I made it to 35 without having that experience, but I say it's just given me more time to think about it (ie: how awful it will be).

My second gift has been mastitis. I don't want to go into to much detail, but basically I have a raging-ly infected boob from a certain someone biting me too much. (Sam, you weirdos). Who knew that mastitis would give you the worst flu symptoms you've ever imagined? I was completely useless yesterday with the fever, aches and chills. This morning I'm feeling a bit more human thanks to the wonders of antibiotics. Let me just say a deep sorry to all those who suffered before their invention.

So, I'm a little behind on my preparations for the big day tomorrow. Thankfully, children are very forgiving when it comes to the wrapping on their presents. I say, tissue paper is easier to rip into anyway!

I also have to finish gathering items for my family's gift exchange. This year's theme? Re-gifting. You're only allowed to shop from your own home for presents. For some family members (who've had a wedding this year) there is much to choose from! There should be some amusing items presented. I'm searching all areas of the house and have come up with some fun things. Hey! It's economical and environmental!

My new niece, Jaime, is home from the hospital and doing great. She's a teeny little thing and pretty as anything. Can't wait to get some updated pictures of her tomorrow.

Here are a few from the hospital with mom and big sis:

My boys are doing just fine. I think Charley (having received two presents already from Hannah and Phil) is getting his head around the idea of Christmas. At least, a toddler's idea of Christmas. We'll work on the "goodwill towards man" in later years.
Sam's present to himself is to have become mobile over the last week. Not in a normal way, of course! That would stray from the pattern of being "unique" set by his big bro.
Allow the videos to explain:

Charley is also very funny this week. He's been singing up a storm... It's amazing how he comes home from playgroups and recites whole songs to me. Here he is being his amusing, and empathetic, self:

Happy holidays to all.
