Futility, thy name is thus:

Unless you have young children, or partake in a lot of photography, it's almost impossible to understand how difficult it is to get a photo of them sitting together and smiling. The best you can hope for is to get them together and both looking at the camera. Smiles are the miraculous occasional bonus.

Here are this morning's efforts:

I realize that it doesn't necessarily help the process when both are eating peanut butter and jam sandwiches.

Sam's chin and zombie boy:

Charley's "don't mind if I do" face and Sam lookin' tough.

Pretty close... Charley looks a bit like a young chimp and Sam leaning towards the camera does nothing to battle the head-size issue:

Sigh. Must settle for this:

Or this:

There you go. An update with two monkeys in pyjamas.

Plans, you ask? Well, I'm very excited to go and investigate the "3rd Annual Olde West Autumn Fair" in Frenchtown this weekend. The postcard I found in the mailbox promises a stick pony rodeo, apple cider, firefighters (hmm, perhaps with special 10 gallon fire-hats? and on horses?), hay rides and a 'cake walk'. What's a cake walk? I don't know, but you can bet I'm going to find out.

Yee-haw lil' doggies.
