Boston and abandonment

My 'bribery' weekend in Boston/Providence is over (although extended by a night because of bad weather in Boston) and now the 36 day abandonment begins.

Chris leaves in an hour for the first of 3 flights that will whoosh him off to South Africa until mid-July.  I feel sick for many reasons:
  • I'll miss him.
  • I'll miss having a second adult/parent in the house.
  • The boys seem to be coming down with the flu this morning (not a good start).
  • Kismet, although cute, is not a great conversationalist. ("Woo woo woo!" is the extent of it).
Sigh.  We'll make it and we have much to look forward to beyond this stretch.  We're both extremely excited for our move and new house!  Charley starts school in September!  It's summer!

Plus, if I was a military wife we'd be talking about a much longer desertion period.  See!?  Silver lining.

Here are a few shots from our great time in Boston and environs:

A man in the Common

Best graffiti and Chris doing his best attempt at "heartbroken".

This graveyard is amazing.  Paul Revere, etc are buried there and it's old and creepy.

And don't even get me started on the Public Library.  Dreeeeeeamy!  At the risk of Chris saying that my 'nerd-dom" has impossibly increased, I love this library.  Could have spent the day...

A little way finding...

And ready for a night on the town.

Great town... Great time.  Something to remember on day 23 of 'all-alone'.

That's all for now.  You'll forgive me if the posts are sporadic for the next while...  Or maybe they won't be.  Who knows.  But if you don't hear from me, you'll know why.

Later.
