Charley's been a bit grumpy the last day or so. Tired I think... recovering from our busy travel day and busy week so far. Outings to the beach and playground have kept him in reasonable spirits, although he was CRUSHED today when we wouldn't let him get in the ocean. Honestly! The water is about 60 degrees and it's sooo windy! He tried to run down to the water's edge about 75 times and by then Chris and I were both back-broken, so we had to call it a day re: the beach. It's been super windy here, and it makes me wonder what it's like during a hurricane? As it is, it's like the house is being rocked to sleep every night. I guess living on posts offers some sway?! The car, which has been coated top to bottom with sand and saltwater, is quietly screaming in the car port. It'll need a really good scrub once we leave the region.
We've been checking out lots of other houses down here, in preparation to be the official tour guides of the region. There are a few nice ones for about $6000/week in peak season. There are others that are about $350/week in the off season. We're checking them all out!
Chris golfed the local (and only) course yesterday. He had lots of fun, even with the sea winds.
Here are some shots from today's revelry:
Charley, being hilarious this morning, playing with his new, retro phone. "Who's calling this early?" says he. Fisher Price has re-released all their old toys... and how could we resist this one? http://www.retrotoysrfun.com/Fisher-Price-Classics-Chatter-Telephone-p/952.htm
Daddy and Charley have some male bonding time at the park. Honestly... I'm not sure this photo was worth me laughing so hard I got a hernia and Chris rupturing a disk in his back. Charley, at least, thought it was funny.
Mummy tries to get down to ground level and collect shells with Charley. The whole "up and down" thing is getting harder for me.
Cutting a sleek silhouette on the beach. I swear, if I get any rounder in the middle and any skinnier in the legs I will officially look like a lollipop. (Martina: note Zoolander face, just for you).
Two cool dudes strut their stuff.
