Visit from the bro

Ben and Kristin were up this weekend, and we had a great time. At least, I did. Ben spent the weekend building a new wall to create a room for Sam and Kristin did some serious "entertaining the nephews" time. It's a toss-up as to who actually worked harder. I was delighted by their efforts and it just made me wish they lived much closer.


Things were too busy to remember to get the camera out, but here a few shots:

There are many other things afoot:

• Charley is inexplicably napping in his bed again. I don't know why, but I'm very happy. I suppose I'll lose some of my mega-muscles from the huge hike I was taking every day.


• Chris is busy at work on about 20 projects... half for career and half for home. He spends a few hours insulating the garage, and then a few writing about the space shuttle, etc..


• We have a brand, new furnace. It's lovely to have proper heat for the first time since we've lived here.


• Haven't met wee Renn yet, as Melissa's had a tough first week, suffering from an epidural headache. Poor thing! As soon as she's feeling better, I'm there! I hear he's a good baby and growing fast already.


• Sammy is still trying to figure out the crawling thing. He's onto 3 points, but is missing that last knee.
