Bad, baddy-bad, mega-super-coloso-bad

You know those days that start off bad and go downhill from there?  Yep.  Just had one.

I won't bore you with all the details, but let it be said that I slipped outside and hit my chin on the shovel handle on the way down.  I almost knocked myself out, but managed to crawl over to where the boys were playing.  They thought this was hilarious and wondered if maybe I'd like to give them a horsie ride.  Nice to know that I can take a mean uppercut to the chin and survive...  I've also strained my lower back and hurt both wrists.

Add 45 incidents of irritation both before and after this event.

Then just an hour ago, Sam took the header of all headers down our very hard and very unforgiving maple stairs.  He landed on his head with enough force to shake the walls.  I don't know whether to be happy he has his giant melon, or blame it for the unbalance in the first place!  Having reviewed the signs of concussion I'm sure he's fine.  He already had a bruise on his ribs by the time I put him in his jammies, so I imagine he and I might feel similarly beat up tomorrow.

Chris is in New York and currently giving a reading of his super-awesome and AWARD-WINNING story.  I hope his day is all that mine has not been.  He deserves it.

Now, thinking back to happier days... Our Saturday venture to Millbrook was fun and interesting.  The property is a heritage building on the main street.  It currently has 2 commercial units and 3 residential units.  It is one of those cases where it reeks of future potential, but currently just reeks.  Some number crunching will be done and some calls made to determine our interest level.  The fact that I can see Sarah's house from the upper floor is high on the 'pro' list.    And spending 7 hours in the (quiet) car with my man was very fun, if not a bit butt-numbing.

And to those of you who kindly commented on my Googily-creation, I thank you.  Especially since you are all wonderful artists in your own fields.  And, yes.  I love his eyebrows too... He's all hand-done and the eyebrows are stitched in black embroidery thread.  Like I said, labour of looooove.

Well,  Sam's screaming in his room now so I guess I should wrap this up.  Hmmm, wonder if screaming is a good sign or a bad sign after a fall?  (Or just a sign of his general naughtiness, like every other night).

Pictures will follow when I have a more inspiring day.  Or maybe tomorrow if I have yet another doosy of a facial bruise.  Wouldn't that be awesome?
